The #1 Secret to Public Speaking

I've worked with so many talented professionals throughout the years. The best advice I've ever received was, "Do not try to be perfect." What this essentially means is, the concept of perfection is impossible. As a public speaker, you will always find yourself messing up at some point; mispronouncing a word, or forgetting your next bullet point, etc. Heck, many of us mess up tons of times throughout our speech. Do not try to be perfect, however try to strategically cover up your mistakes so that no one in the room will know what just happened. The goal isn't about not making a mistake as a public speaker, it's about making a mistake then leaning into it so well that no one ever knows the difference.

I shared a few other nuggets that have helped me through the years in the video. What do you think?
